RE-MEDIATING AN ARGUMENT
The re-mediation project was the most creative project I worked on this semester in the Minor, besides the creation of this portfolio. Using a tumblr page to reimagine piece was a little strange, but I felt it would be more rewarding for me to do than create a website or a podcast which I wasn’t as enthused about.
The biggest struggle I had with it was media I was going to include besides what I referenced in my re-purposing piece. Images, music and videos on the condemnation and glorification of binge drinking are abundant. I had to make strategic choices about what I put on the page and what I said about it. Another area which gave me difficulty was at what point the project seemed “done.” I could ramble on and on, but didn’t want the page to be so crowded that readers would get turned off from it.
Over all, I like how it turned out aesthetically and am really excited I finally gave myself the opportunity to learn tumblr, a social media network I had shied away from previously. The page is below, but if you would like to view the site directly, visit http://www.gabring.tumblr.com.
